The mirror nails

Where to start? I was so so excited about these nails... and the reactions everybody get when the powder turns into mirror ...I had the same ...the excitement is real. You need to get it too.

Ok for those who do not know what I'm talking about, it is a powder, which you apply on top of your nail color and you get a mirror finish. I took a whole day to research on this
so there is a lot to say about this powder and more for me to discover. But don’t worry I will keep it simple and to the main questions.

Keep in mind that there are different ways to go about it (it is possible with a usual nail polish), and I will only talk about what I have tried and what works for me.

• I have it done on a gel polish and the 'no wipe top coat gel' is crucial.

• You will need a dark color as a base for your mirror effect (black is preferable). I don’t have a black gel polish so I chose the darker red color that I have (sensationail sugar plum dragées). It worked for me. I was expecting a rose gold color but the silver came through, as it should.

• You will definitely need a UV light. If you love doing your nails invest in one.

The steps:

ϖ For my natural nails I had to prep them by cleaning them to avoid oil on the nails. Then buffed gently and applied a primer before starting with my base coat.

Some of you who are following my nails journey will ask me if it is not bad for my nails to use UV gel polish. Yes it is not good but I discovered something special, which allows me to experiment this. A peel off nail base coat. This is my absolute green light… the eek is that I therefore do not have the long-lasting result of the UV gel polish anymore since they will peel off. This happened after 5 days of the application… I’m not mad...It is this or soaking my nails into acetone for minutes and the polish doesn’t even come off easily.

ϖ After I cure the peel off base coat under the UV light, I applied two coats of my base color, which is the 'sugar plum dragées'. 

ϖ Then come the no wipe top coat.

 I always cure between each application, and you will need to follow the company instructions for curing apparently it's different for every brand. To avoid any confusion I simply cure as long as I can.

ϖ And finally the fun part. I simply apply the powder on top with the make up sponge. I had to press firmly while rubbing the powder on top of my nails. 

Now I did this when doing my aunt's nails, she was having a normal nail polish color not a UV gel and while I was pressing, it didn't work, but when done very gently the mirror effect was revealing and so much better…to be kept in mind!!

ϖ Then I finished with my gel top coat and voila!!!!

 It seems like a real long process but ...you are doing it yourself so... but sometimes I see my nails and I’m so proud of myself despite the fact that it is not as perfect as you will want it to be. And all the money I’m saving on nails ...no joke and on top of that I'm having fun....

Où commencer? J'étais tellement excitée à propos de ces ongles miroirs ... et la réaction que tout le monde a quand la poudre se transforme en miroir ... J'avais la même ... l'excitation est réelle. Vous devez l'obtenir aussi.

Ok pour ceux qui ne savent pas de quoi je parle, c'est une poudre, que vous appliquez sur le dessus de votre couleur d'ongle et vous obtenez une finition miroir. J'ai pris une journée entière à rechercher sur le sujet, donc il y’a beaucoup à dire sur cette poudre et plus pour moi à découvrir. Mais ne vous inquiétez pas, je vais garder cet article simple et aux questions principales.

Gardez en tête qu'il y a différentes façons de s'y prendre (c'est possible avec un vernis à ongles habituel) et je vais seulement parler de ce que j'ai essayé et ce qui a fonctionné pour moi.

• Je l'ai fait sur du gel UV et le vernis ‘no wipe gel top coat’ est important.

• Vous aurez besoin d'une couleur foncée comme base pour votre effet miroir (noir est préférable). Je n'ai pas de vernis noir, alors j'ai choisi la couleur rouge foncé que j'ai (sugar plum dragées de sensationail). Cela a fonctionné pour moi. Je m'attendais à une couleur rose dorée, mais la couleur argentée s’est dévoilée, comme elle se doit.

• Vous aurez certainement besoin d'une lampe UV pour ongles. Si vous aimez faire vos ongles investir dans une des lampes.

Les étapes:

ϖ Pour mes ongles naturels, j'ai dû les préparer en les nettoyant pour éviter l'huile sur les ongles. Puis poli délicatement et appliqué mon primer avant de commencer avec ma couche de base.

Certains d'entre vous qui suivent le parcours de mes ongles me demanderont si ce n'est pas mauvais pour mes ongles d'utiliser le UV gel. Oui ce n'est pas bon mais j'ai découvert quelque chose de spécial, ce qui me permet d'expérimenter ceci. Un vernis de base ‘peel-off’. C'est mon absolue feu vert ... ce qui n’est pas bien c’est que je n'ai donc plus le résultat semi-permanent du vernis UV gel car ils vont se détacher. Cela s'est produit 5 jours après l'application ... Je ne suis pas déçu... C'est ça ou tremper mes ongles dans de l'acétone pendant des minutes et le vernis ne s'enlève même pas facilement.

ϖ Après avoir sécher la couche de base sous la lampe UV, j'ai appliqué deux couches de ma couleur de base, qui est le 'sugar plum dragées'.

ϖ Ensuite, vient  la couche ‘no wipe top coat’.

 Je sèche toujours sous la lumière entre chaque application, et vous aurez besoin de suivre les instructions de séchage. Apparemment, c'est différent pour chaque marque. Pour éviter toute confusion, je sèche aussi longtemps que je peux.

ϖ Et enfin la partie amusante. J'applique simplement la poudre au dessus avec l'éponge de maquillage. J'ai dû presser fermement en frottant la poudre sur mes ongles.

J’ai fait cela en faisant les ongles de ma tante, elle avait une couleur de vernis à ongles normale pas un UV gel et pendant que j’appuyais la poudre s’enlevait, mais quand je l’ai fait très doucement l'effet de miroir s’était révélé et tellement mieux ...  à garder en tête !!

ϖ Puis j'ai fini avec mon  gel top coat et voila !!!!

 Ça à l’aire d’un long processus mais ... tu le fais toi-même ... et parfois je vois mes ongles et je suis si fière de moi malgré le faite qu'ils sont pas aussi parfait qu'on l'aurai voulu. ET tout l'argent que j'économise sur les ongles ... sans blague et en plus je m'amuse beaucoup.
